Your Dublin

News & Views of the great city of Dublin

Could you suggest a nice place for a holiday in either UK or Eire for a guy travelling alone?

Chusquina asked:

It’s for my 30 year old male friend. He has a week off very soon. He doesn’t have a driving license and he isn’t too fond of Dublin or London because he says it gets lonely visiting either city on your own.
Thank you for your suggestions!

Cardiff. Good transport links from anywhere. Lots of culture in terms concert halls and theatres. Great shopping, the renovated Cardiff Bay full of bars and restautrant. Superb nightlife. The National Museum of Wales which includes the Welsh Folk Museum at St, Fagans ust outside Cardiff. This houses many rebuilt buildings (stone by stone) from around Wales.

Easy public transport to the Brecon Beacons National Park where the walking is first class. Hope this helps.

The Outer Hebrides is a very friendly part of the country. The main town is Stornoway, where there is ample hotels, B B’s to stay, there is lots of pubs, there is an arts centre, a sports centre and the scenery is breathtaking. You can get there by plane or ferry from Ullapool. The planes to Stornoway are from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness. Try it out and see for yourself check one of many websites offering deals .
