Neither Ireland, or the UK, are signatory to the Schengen area, so your visa would not allow you to enter Ireland or the UK. Edit As with any other country where a visa is required, you must obtain it before you travel. It could be that you have left it too late to obtain one so how about your friend visiting you in Holland instead. Sadly no.
