can I visit Ireland with my short term Business Schengen visa to Holland? I only wanna see a freind 4 few days?

traveler asked:

I am going to Netherlands on a bsiness for a short time with a schengen visa, I will have a few spare days that would like it to spend it with my freind in Dublin, I will be able to support myself and show the documentation for that. I am Iraqi National but holding a short term business Schengen visa.
I understand I need a different visa for Ireland, but i guessed the immigration services at the airport do that on arrival as there are no Irish embassies in my country or surrounding and online application takes long while i am traveling in a few days and only wanna visit Ireland for a few days,

Sadly no. Neither Ireland, or the UK, are signatory to the Schengen area, so your visa would not allow you to enter Ireland or the UK.

    Edit
As with any other country where a visa is required, you must obtain it before you travel. It could be that you have left it too late to obtain one so how about your friend visiting you in Holland instead.

As an Iraqi national you must have a visa before you enter the Republic of Ireland, they won’t issue one on arrival

I would suggest contacting the Irish Embassy in the country nearest to you to find out if there’s a way to process the application, this link takes you to a list of all countries where Ireland has an embassy

Sorry, a visa on arrival facility is not available at Ireland; the Irish government wants to know and check the background of those who need a visa in advance before letting them in.
The visa application may take up to eight weeks.. ..
Why does your friend not apply for a visa for the Netherlands since there is an Embassy in Dublin. ..
