you can get a cheap bb everywhere in dublin its stuck in the 80′s and you could visit all the war site and barricades put up..
Cheap and Dublin don’t go in the same sentence.
I’ve been twice, the cheap b b’s are round lower gardiner street, – but just expect a bed/shower – nothing fancy. – cheap at about £30 – £40 per room. We also stopped at the travelodge – but it’s about 5 or 6 miles out from the centre – so you spend a fortune on taxies. Loads of things to see – Guiness factory and the temple bar area is a must – better in the summer – try this link to book a b b
Try the YHA or another hostel, the city centre is a rip off very expensive so try to avoid it also watch the taxis they are robbing bastards as well but that’s the same for all taxis.
If you get a BB outside of the city the money you save could be spent on transport to take you in, but there are some good places just out of the centre and a lot cheaper for a good night out. Personally I would not go back there its way too expensive and the beer is dear its a total con, stay in the UK.
This is an excellent search site for cheap BBs and hotels:
Don’t forget to visit the Guinness Brewery while you are there.
Have fun!
If I were you, I would go to a travel review site like. There you can search out places to stay in the city or area you are looking for based on certain criteria you are looking for, you can also read real guest reviews see real guest photos on these places. You can also shop rates directly from this site. And, there are excellent forums on the site where you can go to ask specific questions, too.
avondale BB was the cheapest decent one we could find. You get what you pay for. Small, barren room, okay bed, small but fine shower, window. The breakfast was pretty good though- cooked fresh full Irish breakfast included in the price. I think it was around 40 Euro.
But, true, that Dublin and cheap is an oxymoron.
goggle it – although your not gonna find anything really cheap if you wanna be in the thick of Dublin center – trust me, i’ve been!!!
many BBs are not central but some are. visit this website for all you need to know.
As for where to go, you will get ideas there too, but I don’t know your age or what things your into. Lots of galleries and museums, Dublin Castle, city hall, Guiness factory, Jameson, Visit Howth and Dun Laoghaire coastal towns by dart transport. For shopping-Grafton St, Stephens Green S.C or get the luas tram to Dundrum S.C. Temple bar is the big culture area to go to. Have a good time and bring lots of money
